Fall is quickly approaching.  Most homeowners shut off their air conditioner at the end of summer and think that's that. Air conditioners need to be maintained, even when they aren't being utilized. Keep your air conditioner in tip top shape with the tips below. When spring rears its head, your A/C will be operating at peak efficiency.
  • Dust and debris can cause inefficiencies and complications with your air conditioner. Be sure to remove any dust and debris that is lingering on your A/C unit.
  • Once the debris is gone, clean your air conditioner thoroughly. Cleaning the coils will help improve your air conditioner's efficiency. Swap out dirty air filters for new ones.
  • Conceal your A/C unit with a waterproof material. That way, your air conditioner will be protected from the elements.
  • Don't forget about your air conditioner when the leaves start to fall. You should occasionally make sure that the unit is completely covered and debris free.
When you follow these simple tips, it can prolong the lifespan of your A/C unit and prevent future problems. The summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean that your A/C equipment can be left to its own devices. If you experience any issues with your air conditioner, the professional technicians at Blue Mountain can clear the air.
